What favourite pin-up product can’t you live without? I couldn’t live without my hair curler and hairspray. ![]() ![]() I have always loved the markets, antiques and op-shops. Where are your favourite places/websites to shop the style? Oh where do I start… I was born to shop and the internet has opened so many doors, from many of the Australian sites online as That Shop, Gwynnies Emporium, Lindy Bop to name a couple and Etsy for those accessories. I would also have to say I love and admire Victory Violet, but my picks for the grace and glamour would be Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe. Who is your pinup role model? I am inspired by so many girls in the pin-up community, they are all truly amazing and have their twist on the style they bring. I also love to show off my style with my vintage caravans at events. I have met so many lovely people along the way and made some great friends. It is also about accepting and supporting each other with no judgement on size, age or life choices. What do you love most about pin-up? Pin-up to me is about embracing the vintage look, lifestyle, grace, glamour & simplicity of the by-gone era. Pin-up of the Month – April 2018 Pinky Fontaine Where are you from? That’s a loaded question – I was born in Queens NY, however being an Army Brat I grew up in Lampertheim, Germany. I too am an Army Veteran and ex-Military Spouse, and have lived and have been stationed all over the world. What favourite pin-up product can’t you live without? Lovely hair flowers, gorgeous accessories, of course wonderful makeup and I’m gonna put a twist on this my favourite ‘pin-up’ product would be an amazing photographer. Where are your favourite places/website to shop? I love Pin-Up Girl Clothing and For Luna Swimwear Who is your pin-up role model? My pin-up role models are the ‘everyday’ ladies, moms, grandmothers who love this culture and share their wonderful pictures with us! What do you love most about pin-up? I love Pin-Up because it embraces every age, size, shape and colour! I also wear my black cats eye sunglasses (from Pony Boy Vintage Clothing) nearly every day as they add a retro/vintage element to any outfit. What favourite pin-up product can’t you live without? Recently I purchased a black velvet turban from Miz Smitten Kitten which I love as it’s so flattering and so easy to wear. I recently bought a gorgeous vintage-inspired evening gown from Lindy Bop which I adore. Where are your favourite places/websites to shop the style? I love to browse through garage sales, op shops and car boot markets as that’s where I have found most of my favourite vintage items. I also think Cherry Dollface is inspiring as not only is she so successful in the pin-up industry but she shares so many tips to help other pin-ups via workshops and You Tube tutorials. Who is your pin-up role model? I watched my first documentary on Marilyn Monroe when I was about eleven and from that moment on I have been in awe of her beauty, talent and overall charisma. It is great fun to dress in pin-up and go to events with other people who love the vintage look and lifestyle as much as I do. What do you love most about pin-up?
